The CFINE Community Music Project helps to make music creation accessible to everyone, regardless of background or experience.

Growing with the Garden was produced during the CFINE Community Music Project in Aberdeen 2024-25. During the project Rebecca coordinated creative music and writing workshops with three groups of participants. She ran one of the groups and managed two freelance practitioners who ran the other two - Lisa-Marie Ferguson and Alexander Thompson-Miller.

The project released their EP Growing With The Garden on Friday 25th April 2025 and a music video on 14th May 2025.

Growing With The Garden is free to stream, however if you'd like to purchase the EP all profits will go to the community food charity CFINE.

Rebecca organised songwriting workshops in three community gardens across Aberdeen - here project participants drew inspiration for their songwriting - Tullos Community Garden in Torry, Earth & Worms in Tillydrone, and the SNUG in Seaton. The songs and videos amplify the sense of community at the gardens.

A collaborative song created by project participants, I Am The Song is an adaptation of a song written by Boo Hewerdine for Luminate Scotland.

The music video for I Am The Song is the result of a collaboration between SHMU’s Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative & Digital Media and the CFINE Community Music Project. SHMU is a community organisation for video and radio production and FA pupils from Alford and Aboyne Academies contributed to the filming and editing as part of their coursework.

The video was launched on YouTube on 14th May, promoted as part of Mental Health Awareness week, to highlight the role the arts have in supporting mental health and wellbeing. CFINE’s Community Growing team provides support for community garden projects as hubs for engagement and mental health improvement. By integrating creative elements with these community green spaces the project was able to engage communities in sharing their lived experience through songwriting.
